Lava Terre del Vulcano Taurasi DOCG

2016

Lava Terre del Vulcano Taurasi DOCG

The Taurasi vineyards are situated at between 500 and 700 meters above sea level, and are always subject to a cool breeze that blows off the Bay of Naples. This same breeze has, over centuries, blown volcanic ash from Vesuvius inland to give the soil here a poor, volcanic character. Fruit for this wine was sourced from vineyards of over 40 years old able to give the best expression of Taurasi.

Thanks to a particularly favorable microclimate and an extraordinary soil condition, the agronomists have carried out painstaking work in selecting the best vineyards. Modern technological processes and careful oenological knowledge allow to now make wines that embody the best reinterpretation of millennia of wine tradition enclosed under the name of Lava.

Macchialupa Le Surte Taurasi DOCG

2015

Macchialupa Le Surte Taurasi DOCG

The Macchialupa Winery is located in the Valle del Sabato, on the border between the provinces of Avellino and Benevento, amid wide valleys and towering ridges where, at an altitude of around 450 meters, the Falanghina, Greco, Fiano and Aglianico grape types are cultivated. Their passion and love for an area rich in winemaking traditions and culture led enologist Angelo Valentino and agronomist Giuseppe Ferrara to set up this small winery, which is masterfully run by its founders.

Taurasi is the prince of Campania wines, from Aglianico di Taurasi grapes grown with special care and attention. The result immediately makes all wine lovers smile. A nobleman from Campania, histrionic and courteous, shares dinner with the guests.
