The Château du Tertre dominates the vineyard, which enjoys a superb position, lying unbroken over 52 hectares. Cabernet Sauvignon is the major grape variety, endowing the wine with structure and concentration. Renowned for its roundness and suppleness, Merlot brings its silkiness to the final blending. Cabernet Franc lends its distinctive, rich bouquet of spicy notes. Later to mature, the Petit Verdot completes this range of aromas. Thus is born the Château du Tertre Grand Vin, reflecting the very soul of this exceptional terroir.","https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRmZp82wQRjPyAF8KGWctJCCGrtQpaf4NyQ6GfD8SlHfUJwE6MosdgxYUL5ETWrw4nGXMo05OMiXPmeW6o","Wine-Searcher","https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/faviconV2?url=https://www.wine-searcher.com&client=AIM&size=128&type=FAVICON&fallback_opts=TYPE,SIZE,URL",[[1783603182241161,146536605,1982287593],null,null,null,null,[[2,0,7]]],null,"2774ee38-d19d-4903-ad3c-8fe53ff8a039"]]--> on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. Vineyard notes: \"The Margaux terroirs are there highest, with one of the most elevated gravel outcrops of the Médoc. The light and the sunshine wich bathe the vines protect them from the late spring frosts. A stream provides natural drainage, separating the two gravels outcrops, and cools the vines, thus giving them the cooler temperatures vital for thier development, protecting them both from excess water and drought.\"","https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRmZp82wQRjPyAF8KGWctJCCGrtQpaf4NyQ6GfD8SlHfUJwE6MosdgxYUL5ETWrw4nGXMo05OMiXPmeW6o","Wine-Searcher","https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/faviconV2?url=https://www.wine-searcher.com&client=AIM&size=128&type=FAVICON&fallback_opts=TYPE,SIZE,URL",[[1783604855888479,146535245,1964391292],null,null,null,null,[[1,6]]],null,"9c4d8358-955c-4f03-8029-8e8c39adc195"]]-->.
Château du Tertre is a property steeped in history. This property has existed since the 12th century and its vineyard of 52 hectares remains unchanged since 1855. Since the 19th century, their wines have become worldwide recognised thanks to the classification of 1855 which makes Château du Tertre a Grand Cru Classé de Margaux.

Unexpected grape varieties in this region flourish under the protective benevolence of a pine forest, a cool soil blend of gravel and sand, these imprints of time, are home to Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and a delicate touch of Gros Manseng.

Crafted with the same precision, passion, and expertise as Château du Tertre, Les Hauts du Tertre reveals another side of the estate, that of a wine best discovered and appreciated in its younger years. Lively, with silky tannins, its fruity and spicy notes blend with the delicacy of Margaux wines.

In Arsac in the heart of the Margaux appellation, Château du Tertre overlooks a single holding vineyard of 52 hectares. The property, situated on one of the highest hills in the Médoc is composed of gravel, clay and sand. It was during the XIXth century that the wines acquired international renown, amplified by the 1855 classification which established the property as a 5th Growth.

Margaux by Tertre is a nice introduction to the wines produced by Château du Tertre.
The viticulture and vinification are carried out with the same high level of quality. Margaux by Tertre is mainly produced from the
young vines of Château du Tertre giving the wine a very fruity style, with a nice smoothness and roundness.
