Vinum Lector

Sarget de Gruaud Larose Saint-Julien AOC (Château Gruaud Larose GCC 2nd wine)

Château Gruaud Larose has a long history in the Saint Julien appellation that dates back to the days when the property was first owned by a knight known as Joseph Stanislas Gruaud.
The vineyard has not changed much since it was created in 1781. Thus, the vineyard is exactly the same today as it was when it was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, located on the highest point of elevation on the Saint Julien plateau. It has belonged to the Merlaut family since 1997, which have introduced sustainable development and organic farming methods in the vineyard.

Château Gruaud-Larose’s second wine, Sarget combines finesse and balance. It enjoys the same care as the great wine, and is very charming.
2018 was a sunny and early vintage that will be remembered for the virulence of the mildew but where the harvests took place in optimal conditions. A great vintage with great wealth and opulence.
