The Spanish conquistador Francisco de Aguirre planted a vine in Chile in the 16th century. Further continuing the work of their ancestors, Ana Maria Etcheberri and Pedro Felix de Aguirre founded the Bodegas y Vinedos de Aguirre winery, which adheres to the winemaking traditions of the family.
The Pater Familiae line was created specifically for the anniversary of the death of the great winemaker Felix de Aguirre and represents the heart and soul of the family. This range of ultra premium wines gathers the best grapes from specially selected blocks owned by Cruz de Aguirre and also converges the fruit of the work of three generations of winemakers.
Vino Icono 2015 was born as a result of the selection of the best grapes from the vineyards of Villa Alegre (Maule), and as a result of the work of three generations of winemakers, “something that our father, Pedro Félix, always dreamed of: an exceptional wine that reflects the best of ourselves; the passion for a job well done and that invites us to transcend, to imagine and to leave a trace”, says Rodrigo De Aguirre, general manager of Viña De Aguirre.
